How osmos remembers

What memory is, where it comes from, and its limits.

osmos keeps a memory of what it learns about you: names, preferences, plans, decisions, the way you like things done. It builds this from your conversations and from the accounts you connect. That's why the second week is better than the first.

You can ask what it remembers: "What do you know about my trip in October?" If something is wrong, tell it in chat and it will stop using it.

Limits

  • Memory is retrieval, not a perfect record. osmos recalls what seems relevant to the current question, so it can miss something you told it long ago. Restating the important thing never hurts.
  • It remembers facts, not every word. Don't rely on it to reproduce a long message verbatim; ask it to find the original instead.
  • Memory belongs to your account and is deleted with it.
